About Us

Gordon's have been making footwear in  West Auckland, New Zealand since 1975. Originally we started out making Bespoke Footwear for our Boutique in Fort Street,  Auckland Central .Soon after we began to manufacture 'made to measure' dance footwear, predominantly Ballroom for men, women and children, supplied throughout New Zealand and parts of Australia. We also made Jazz Ballet and Traditional Ballet shoes.

In 1980 Gordon's began to manufacture Orthopaedic Footwear .Intially we started the making of infant/childrens surgical boots for Auckland Hospital. Soon after we were suppling Hospitals / Orthotic Departments throughout New Zealand with our childrens orthopaedic footwear.

From there we progressed into the making of orthopaedic footwear for men and women, suppling Hospitals/Orthopaedic Departments throughout New Zealand and parts of Australia. Over the years we have designed and made numerous different styles of Orthopaedic and Bespoke footwear for all ages and walks of life. The smallest footwear that we make is size 00 for infants and the largest was a pair of boots for Kashin the Elephant in 1999 to aid her ulcerated front feet.

In 2006 founder Bob Gordon retired from the Footwear Trade yet continues to manage Gordon's Ltd manufacturing Medical Products supplied to Hospitals/Medical centres throughout New Zealand.
In 2007 Eugene Gordon took over the footwear division of Gordon's, trading as Gordons Footwear Ltd. In 1984 Eugene began his shoemaking career as an Apprentice Shoemaker for 'The New Zealand Shoe Corporation' ( Selby Shoe Co Ltd ) In 1990 Eugene joined the business permanently and has been making predominantly Bespoke and Orthopaedic footwear since.

In 2007 Jorge Bernal joined us and together we have made a vast variety of specialist footwear. In 1983 Jorge began his shoemaking career in Argentina as a Footwear Designer and has worked in Argentina, Chile and here in New Zealand as a Footwear Designer / Pattern cutter since.

Over the last few years both Jorge and Eugene have combined their skills and knowledge to offer a unique service of being able to meet all manner of challenges with individual footwear requirements. We have made all manner of footwear from orthopaedic, bespoke, dance, fashion, film, and circus.
